This part of the Appalachian Mountains is particularly well-suited for growing its native Fraser Fir, a species found exclusively in just a few counties of Virginia and North Carolina. 
    The Fraser makes an exceptional Christmas tree, as the needles are short, soft and have a lovely silver color to the underside. They also don't shed their needles for many weeks after cutting, making storage easier for the retailer, as well as offering a special selling point to the consumer.

The somewhat longer-needled Blue Spruce provides a full, bushy look, and makes a wonderful tree for home or business alike.
